Announcing Short Talk Fridays Presentation Practice Sessions

Giving presentations can be intimidating especially if you are new at it. The pressure is on even for veterans if you only have minutes to make an impression. Delivering persuasive presentations can often mean the difference between getting the funding you want, an A grade or making it to the vendor shortlist.

Public speaking was always one of my least favorite activities early in my career. My palms would get sweaty, my face would flush red and in the worse presentations, I would stutter. So how did I survive and thrive in a career that required me to speak publicly weekly and coach others to be memorable speakers? One word: Practice. And, this is the inspiration for Short Talk Fridays, a weekly free presentation practice session for executives, entrepreneurs and students.

Each Friday, during the lunch hour (because we all have to eat!), I will be hosting a Short Talk presentation practice for anyone who wants to practice their 1-minute, 3-minute or 6-minute fast talk in front of a supportive peer group. The 50-minute session is free and will be held at the Microsoft Innovation Center on the ground floor of the newly renovated FlatironCity building in Downtown Atlanta.

Everyone is welcome to attend even if you don’t have a pitch to practice. Feel free to bring your lunch!

When: Fridays: 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM

Where: FlatironCity, 84 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30303

What: Free practice session for entrepreneurs, students and executives who want to hone their presentation skills.
